Royco® 560 (MIL-PRF-23699) is a 5 centistoke synthetic lubricating oil for gas turbine engines. Royco® 560 was developed to meet the increased demands of the latest technologically advanced gas turbine engines. With the introduction of engines with higher bypass ratio, higher thrust output and higher operating temperatures and pressures, ROYCO® 560 has demonstrated a remarkable savings in lower maintenance costs and down time. Royco® 560 surpasses the performance of traditional Type II, MIL-PRF-23699 Class STD fluids by combining higher thermal-oxidative stability with lower carbon residue formation. This results in better engine performance and allows for longer periods between routine maintenance. Royco® 560 may be used in older engines designed to run on MIL-PRF-23699 Class STD fluids.

Royco 560 is a 5-centistoke High Thermal Stability (HTS) synthetic turbine oil. Unlike standard (STD) oils, Royco 560 is specifically formulated to resist carbon buildup (coking) and oxidation in modern, high-output jet engines that operate at significantly higher temperatures.
Royco 560 is qualified to the MIL-PRF-23699 Class HTS specification. It also meets the SAE AS5780 Class HPC (High Performance Capability) standard and carries the NATO code O-154, making it approved for use in both advanced military and commercial aircraft engines.
It is designed for use in modern high-bypass turbofans and high-performance military engines from manufacturers like General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls-Royce. It is the preferred choice for engines that show a tendency toward oil-system deposits or those operating in demanding flight profiles.
While both are MIL-PRF-23699 lubricants, mixing them is not recommended. Mixing an HTS oil (Royco 560) with an STD oil (Royco 500) will dilute the superior thermal stability properties of the 560, potentially leading to increased deposit formation in high-temperature engine zones.
