Frequently Asked Questions

What is Royco 500 and what are its primary uses?

Royco 500 is a 5-centistoke synthetic turbine oil specifically formulated for aircraft gas turbine engines requiring high thermal stability. It is used in commercial and military jet engines, as well as stationary industrial gas turbines, to provide superior lubrication and wear protection under extreme stress.

Royco 500 is fully qualified to the MIL-PRF-23699 Class STD (Standard) specification. It is also designated by the NATO code O-156, making it a standardized lubricant for international military aviation and naval power plants.

The primary benefits include excellent oxidation resistance, low volatility, and a high flash point. These properties work together to minimize the formation of sludge and carbon deposits, ensuring that engine oil passages and bearings remain clean even during prolonged high-temperature operation.

Yes, Royco 500 is fully miscible and compatible with other synthetic turbine oils that meet the MIL-PRF-23699 specification. However, to ensure the integrity of the specific additive package, it is recommended to avoid mixing brands during a complete oil change whenever possible.
