Applications

Mobil Jet Oil II is recommended for aircraft gas turbine engines of the turbo-jet, turbo-fan, turbo-prop, and turbo-shaft (helicopter) types in commercial and military service. It is also recommended for aircraft-type gas turbine engines used in industrial or marine applications. Mobil Jet Oil II is approved against the Standard Performance (STD) classification of U.S. Military Specification MIL-PRF-23699. It is also compatible with other synthetic gas turbine lubricants meeting MIL-PRF-23699. However, mixing with other products is not recommended because the blend would result in some loss of the performance characteristics of Mobil Jet Oil II. Mobil Jet Oil II is compatible with all metals used in gas turbine construction, as well as with F Rubber (Viton A), H Rubber (Buna N), and silicone seal materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the primary benefits of using Mobil Jet Oil II?

Mobil Jet Oil II is a high-performance Standard (STD) Type II turbine oil known for its excellent thermal and oxidation stability. It reduces sludge and carbon deposit formation, protects engine bearings from wear, and offers a high flash point to ensure safe operation across a wide range of commercial and military aircraft engines

Mobil Jet Oil II is qualified to the MIL-PRF-23699 Class STD (Standard) specification. It is approved for use in a vast array of engines from manufacturers including General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls-Royce, and is compatible with other oils meeting the same military standard

Mobil Jet Oil II is engineered to maintain effective lubrication at temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) during startup and remains stable in high-temperature operating environments up to 204°C (400°F). This wide range ensures reliable performance from ground idle to high-altitude cruise.

With over 50 years of flight history and billions of operational hours, Mobil Jet Oil II is trusted for its consistent formulation. Its ability to keep engine components clean and its compatibility with various seal materials (Viton A, Viton B, and Silicone) make it the most widely specified lubricant in the global aviation industry.
