Armite supplies the current Spec for VPP-236A(2)N3 (Technical Petrolatum) which is another great product that Armite supplies to its distributors/customers. There are two types of VVP-236, an industrial grade, and a pharmaceutical grade. The difference between the industrial and pharmaceutical grades, is typically the pharmaceutical grade is made from a lighter grade of petroleum and is yellowish in color. The industrial grade petrolatum is reddish-colored industrial petroleum jelly, it is made from a heavier grade of petroleum. This type of petroleum jelly is often used in industrial applications where high viscosity and resistance to heat, and moisture are required.

Reduces friction and enhances smooth operation.
Suitable for demanding industrial and military applications.
Protects metal surfaces from degradation over time.
Minimizes maintenance and replacement costs.
Reduces torque and prevents damage to fasteners.
Meets stringent defense and aerospace standards.

Armite Technical Petrolatum is a superior-quality, light lubricating grease designed for aeronautic and aviation industries. It is primarily used for low-to-moderate lubrication of critical components, acting as a moisture barrier and a light friction-reducer for moving parts that do not experience extreme mechanical stress.
Armite Technical Petrolatum is fully compliant with the VV-P-236 federal specification (including the current VV-P-236A revision). This qualification makes it a standard-issue item for military and aerospace MRO, often appearing under NSNs such as 9150-01-663-8587.
No. A critical technical restriction is that VV-P-236 is not recommended for use in heavily loaded or hot-running bearings. Its melting point is typically between 46°C and 60°C (115°F–140°F); exceeding these temperatures will cause the grease to liquefy and lose its lubricating properties.
Unlike standard petroleum jelly, the technical grade offers superior thermal stability and low volatility. It provides excellent resistance to water washout, reduces torque on threaded assemblies, and prevents corrosion on sensitive metal surfaces like battery terminals and electronic connectors.
