3M™ Aerospace Sealant AC-770 Class B is a two-component thixotropic paste and is lighter than traditional sealants, weighing an average of 3—4 lbs. less per gallon. AC-770 maintains flexibility and bond strength on various substrates under extremes of temperature, weathering, and stress. It is easily applied by extrusion, injection gun or spatula, and exhibits superb tooling properties. Our Class B sealant has no added solvents, which minimizes shrinkage to help reduce rework and improve processes.

3M AC-770 is a two-part, low-density polysulfide sealant designed for quick-repair sealing of aircraft fuel tanks and fuselages. Because it is lighter than standard polysulfide sealants, it helps reduce the overall weight of the aircraft while providing an effective barrier against aviation fuels and chemicals.
The main advantage of 3M AC-770 is its rapid cure rate, which allows for faster "return-to-service" times. It is specifically formulated to cure quickly even in low-humidity conditions, making it ideal for MRO facilities operating in dry climates or for urgent line maintenance repairs.
AC-770 has a lower specific gravity compared to traditional sealants. For large-scale sealing projects, such as an entire fuel tank overhaul, using a low-density sealant like AC-770 can lead to significant weight savings, which directly improves fuel efficiency and payload capacity.
